Story
On 6th June 2024 we will be undertaking a charity cycle ride as part of the Nationwide Building Society Tour De Cotswolds, with 3 separate routes of 35, 65 or 100 miles.
All funds raised will be donated to Ovarian Cancer Action. The Vital funds we raise will be added to a specific pot of money to help fund a Research Scientist for a year, in memory of Lisa Johnson.
Lisa was a hugely inspirational woman who battled Ovarian Cancer bravely for 8 years until sadly passing away last August aged just 58. She was a wonderful wife to Nick, Step Mother to our colleague Darren and Grandmother to Alexander and Erin.
Her husband Nick (Darren's Father) has taken on an immense challenge to try and raise £50,000 for Ovarian Cancer Action to fund a Research Scientist for a year to help in the fight against this cruel disease and hopefully work towards a cure.
Nick from Wiltshire, set off from Dorset on 9th March (his birthday) and is walking the whole of the English Coast (over 3000 miles) with his trusty companion Louis. The pair will be walking 13 miles a day on this self-funded trip, finding accommodation as they go! Nick hopes to complete the walk in November, on what would have been Lisa's 60th birthday. Find out more and support Nick via his website www.OCA3k.com.
Our aim is to raise as many funds as possible to help Nick and Louis reach their goal, as well as showing our support for our colleague and family.
