Story
In the UK alone, there are around 56,000 new cases of breast cancer in women, and over 350 new cases in men every year- that's over 150 cases every day. That's far too many people each year hearing the awful news that they have breast cancer, throwing them and their loved ones into turmoil.
Sadly, although great strides have been made in the development of new treatments and the understanding of this disease, approximately 11,500 women and 80 men in the UK will still die each year from breast cancer. That's far too many loved ones left grieving each year if treatment options run out.
Although it might be tough, we are taking on the Robin Hood Half Marathon because we're determined to take a stand.
We are running to support clinical and academic researchers at the Nottingham Breast Cancer Research Centre, University of Nottingham, to continue their work to find a cure for breast cancer.
Every step we take will help advance breast cancer research - so please dig deep and sponsor our team members. Together we hope to make a real difference to individuals and families impacted by breast cancer both now and in the future.
