Story
We did it!!! On 26 September, 26 of us completed a gruelling 100 mile bike ride in stunning Snowdonia. We challenged ourselves but we also want to improve health, education and welfare for Nepalese mountain communities. Thank you to everyone who has already supported us, and if you haven't already do please support us as generously as you can! Thank you! Community Action Nepal tell us that "the money raised is enough to pay for a nurse and all of the medical equipment and medicine needed to run a health centre in a rural community for two and a half years! That’s a lot of people being cared for - and lots of lives changed, especially during the pandemic. You should all be very proud!"
Our brave nurses continue to remain at their health posts to continue the critical role in providing medicines and health care in the remote mountains. We have stocked up all our health posts with additional medicines and PPE in anticipation of any localised outbreaks. We are pleased to report that no cases have been identified within the remote valleys that CAN operates.
We continue to work closely with our Operations Director in Nepal, Murari Gautam, to ensure that systems and resources remain in place to try to keep our staff safe as possible and go on delivering essential healthcare in mountain communities.
