Story
It amazes me how many people there are out in the world willing to help others in times of need. There are so many deserving charities that provide support for those of us who need a helping hand. I have set up this page, primarily, on behalf of my wonderful friend Lucy, who recently lost her husband Brin.
Both Lucy and Brin have been such a massive support to me through a very difficult period in my own life and I can not imagine how I would have got through without them. So many people want to support her in her time of need and want to know what they could do to help. Selflessly, she has suggested that people could donate to a child bereavement charity, to help children like her own who are going through the worst of times.
I also did not know what I could do to help other than try and be the best friend possible. But other than that I thought I might be able to help raise money for her chosen charity, as well as charities that have helped me though some difficult times. I made the decision to help three charities that have become very close to my heart by doing a really long run!
The first is a local charity called Simon Says Child Bereavement Support. Lucy would very much appreciate it if people could support this charity as her children have lost the best dad. Simon Says provides support for children who have lost a parent and need someone to talk to.
The second is RASAC Winchester. This charity has provided amazing support to me through a very difficult period of my life. They are a small local charity that provide a counselling service for people have suffered from sexual abuse.
The final charity is Parkinson's UK. My dad has this horribly debilitating disease and the support provided by Parkinson's UK has been invaluable.
