Raising money for Alzheimer's Research UK and Macmillan Cancer Support

Story

On Saturday 6th May we are taking on The National Three Peaks Challenge - this involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales. We will climb Ben Nevis (1,344m), Scafell Pike (978m) and Snowdon (1,085m) with a total walking distance of 23 miles (37km) and a total ascent of 3064 metres (10,052ft). With an additional driving distance of 450 miles it will be a real challenge fitting it all in within 24 hours!

We are raising money for Alzheimer's Research UK and MacMillan Cancer Support.

Without effective treatments, one in three children born today will die with dementia. Today, there are no dementia survivors but research can change this. Alzheimer’s Research UK is the UK's leading dementia research charity, dedicated to causes, diagnosis, prevention, treatment and cure. Backed by passionate scientists and supporters, Alzheimer’s Research UK is challenging the way people think about dementia, uniting the big thinkers in the field and funding the innovative science that will deliver a cure.

MacMillan Cancer Support provides services for people living with cancer providing emotional, practical, physical, and financial support. They are 98% funded by voluntary donations, so fundraising is essential to make sure they can deliver the vital support people living with cancer need.
