Story
Breaking the Chains of Period Poverty in Kenya.
Period poverty is a harsh reality faced by many girls and women globally, including those in Kenya. It refers to the lack of access to sanitary products, menstrual hygiene education, and proper sanitation facilities, leading to significant challenges during menstruation. This issue often results in health risks, hindrance to education, and overall social and economic inequalities.
Facts about Period Poverty:
1. Millions of girls and women worldwide face period poverty, limiting their access to essential menstrual products.
2. In Kenya, a considerable number of girls miss school due to the inability to afford or access proper sanitary items.
3. Limited awareness and cultural stigmas contribute to the perpetuation of period poverty
Our Mission:
We have tirelessly worked on designing reusable pads, the solution to this pressing problem. These reusable pads have been crafted after many months of research and trials. Our goal is to distribute these pads to young girls in rural areas, providing them with a sustainable and hygienic solution for their menstrual needs. Each package contains 6 reusable pads, pants, a bar of soap other useful hygiene products. Each pad lasts a minimum of 3 years, offering a cost-effective and long-term solution.
Education And Empowerment:
Our mission goes beyond distributing pads. We understand that education and awareness play a crucial role in breaking the cycle of period poverty. That's why, along with the reusable pads, we will provide comprehensive menstrual education and female hygiene information to these young girls. Knowledge empowers them to manage their periods safely and with dignity.
