Story
Milbank LLP team will cycle the 603 miles from Land's End to John O'Groats to raise funds for the amazing School of Hard Knocks (SOHK) charity. Milbank, through partner James Cameron, has supported SOHK over a number of years with pro bono legal advice. Susie Dear, champion rower and co-captain of the world-renowned Leander club, will also be leading the charge with us and rowing the distance virtually.
School of Hard Knocks was established as a charity in 2012 and exists to empower and support both adults and children who are facing social inequality. Through the use of high-impact sport, tailored mentoring and by engendering an atmosphere of genuine acceptance, School of Hard Knocks enables individuals to fully realise their potential. Working across the UK in England, Scotland and Wales, SOHK delivers life-changing programmes and courses that have a long-term impact on participants mental and physical health. The School of Hard Knocks psychology is the key to the charity's success and is what makes SOHK unique. Understanding how we change behaviour is imperative for SOHK in continuing to do it effectively. School of Hard Knocks aims to create internal change to enable positive external behaviours. Using sport as a vehicle for this works brilliantly because you can identify issues within a sporting context first; before exploring these issues on a personal level.
We all passionately believe in the cause of SOHK - which is to give everyone they support, an equal opportunity to succeed. Any donations, however big or small, are greatly appreciated for this fantastic cause.
