Story
Mike lived a short 5 weeks following his diagnosis of Pancreatic Cancer aged 69. His last days were spent at St Michael's Hospice, Harrogate.
We have set up fundraising pages for Pancreatic Cancer UK and St Michael's Hospice to support the charities that were important to him and to Kathleen, Laura & Claire in those final weeks.
Thank you for your support in memory of a wonderful husband, Dad and Grandpa.
Please do read about our reasons for selecting the following charities to support.
St. Michael's Hospice:
Kathleen, Laura and Claire will be forever grateful for the wonderful care and support given to Mike and the whole family by everyone at Saint Michael’s Hospice in Harrogate.
St Michael's needs to raise £7 million each year to provide support to people living with terminal illness and their families as well as people living with bereavement. The majority of the funding comes thanks to the support and generosity of the local community.
We would like to raise as much money as possible to give something back after the amazing care they gave Mike.
Pancreatic Cancer UK:
It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer die within 3 months. Sadly this was also the case for Mike.
Survival rates have improved enormously for most cancers, yet for pancreatic cancer, this is not the case.
Pancreatic Cancer UK is dedicated to taking on this injustice using every possible means. They're supporting people with pancreatic cancer now, campaigning, and funding vital research to transform the future.
Mike, Kathleen, Laura & Claire wanted to support this charity to help them to make the breakthroughs that people with pancreatic cancer so desperately need.
