Story

Myself and Melinda plan to Swim 100 lengths of Godalming leisure centre pool over a period of 5 weeks .

Melinda has been a resident of the Meath since she was in her 40's .She has endured an acquired brain injury from the age of 10 from a road traffic accident which triggered Epilepsy She has had major surgery over the years, one of which was an operation was to correct her feet . More recently she was diagnosed with breast cancer and has endured months of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and the loss of all her hair, which was her pride and joy. She has finally been given the all clear.

With the support that she has had over the years, Mel feels that she owes the Meath a debt of gratitude and wants to give something back especially as she is reaching her 60th birthday this year .

when she started online coffee mornings with Headway a brain injury charity she was informed that they were taking part in the Challenge 100. As she has just started swimming again, Mel has come up with the idea to swim 100 lengths of the pool over a period of 5 weeks. She wants to raise money for the charity which has played a large part in Mel's journey to where she is today .

I am Mel's key worker and have worked at the Meath almost 3 years now. I swim with Mel every week so it makes sense to me that I also take on the challenge

I am advancing in years and have to also have surgery this year; reconstruction of my feet so will be unable to work for 12 weeks. I have not done a lot to challenge myself over the years and this may be the last chance for a while, so what better way to celebrate our joint 60th birthday than to help Mel and raise money for the Meath.

SORRY WE HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO START YET WE WEILL START WHEN MEL IS WELL ENOUGH.
