Story
This is the Mayor of Calderdale Appeal for 2023-2024
The Mayor, Councillor Ashley Evans has elected to support two charities this year, Children’s Heart Surgery Fund (CHSF) and Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.
Councillor Evans and his wife, Mayoress Rosie Tatchell, tragically lost their first son Tudor when he was just 16 to congenital heart disease (CHD). The Mayor and Mayoress have chosen Children's Heart Surgery Fund, as the charity provides vital medical equipment, family support and parent accommodation for patients with CHD and their families at the Leeds Congenital Heart Unit (LCHU). The LCHU treated Tudor at its former site in Killingbeck.
The Forget Me Not Children's Hospice was nominated by the Deputy Mayoress, Councillor Sue Holdsworth.
Coun. Holdsworth said: "Forget Me Not Children's Hospice provides so many services to support children, parents, carers, families and friends during what must be the most stressful and devastating time for little ones and the people who love them.
"I have been fortunate not to have been in that position, but I have a close friend who suffered such a loss. Forget Me Not supported her during this awful time, and subsequently she arranged a large number of fundraising events for them. I want to carry on helping Forget Me Not in memory of her lost child."
Unfortunately, JustGiving isn't able to automatically split donations when fundraising for multiple charities so please help us keep the donations matched by clicking through to the individual fundraising pages below...
