Story
My son, Elian was inspired by the fund raising activities of Captain Tom Moore and wanted to say thank you for the amazing and brave work that the NHS in Gwent has been doing during the Covid-19 crisis and so he will be running 5K everyday for five weeks. His friends from the Under 11's Marshfield Football team are supporting Elian by joining in the challenge.
Marshfield is a village situated between Newport and Cardiff. It has a great community spirit and during the year residents involve themselves in making the village a better place to live in. Events such as communal litter picking, the annual fireworks display and the Santa drive through are organised by volunteers. Recently a COVID group has been set up in the village to support the community affected by this crisis and this demonstrates how people really care for each other living here.
The village hall is at the centre of the community which is the home to Marshfield Football Club. The club is supported by age groups from U6's all the way through to U16's and it plays a big role in bringing the village together.
The 5K challenge commences on Monday 20th April and is going to test the fitness and resolve of the team. I am sure that with your support and encouragement they can do it.
Please support this cause and the boy's tremendous effort!
