In Loving Memory of Mia Jennings: Help Us Save Young Lives
Mia Jennings tragically passed away on 21 January 2023, after suffering a cardiac arrest at just 19 years old.
Mia was a model employee and a star apprentice in the HR team, as well as a swimming teacher who impacted the lives of hundreds of children at Macclesfield Leisure Centre.
A rising star, Mia received special recognition as an outstanding apprentice at the North East Cheshire Chamber Business Awards and the South Cheshire Chamber Awards. She had also recently achieved her Level 3 CIPD certificate.
Most importantly, Mia was a kind, caring person who always strived to give her best and help others. Her beautiful smile lit up every room she entered, and she made a lasting, positive impression on everyone she met.
In memory of Mia, myself and my girlfriend are participating in the 2025 London Marathon to raise funds for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY). Your donation will help CRY reduce the incidence of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by partnering with cardiologists and family doctors to improve screening practices and promote heart health in young people.
Each week in the UK, at least 12 young, seemingly healthy individuals die from undiagnosed cardiac conditions.
Thanks to the support of fundraisers like you, CRY has already screened over 250,000 young people between the ages of 14 and 35 for potentially fatal heart conditions. The cost of screening is approximately £6,500 per day for 100 people, or £65 per individual.
By donating today, you’ll be directly contributing to saving lives by ensuring more young people have access to life-saving cardiac screening.
