My mom was diagnosed with colon cancer during my freshman year of high school. She underwent hundreds of surgeries and procedures in order to potentially extend her life. After one of her bigger surgeries, (a colostomy bag and gi tube), she said she needed to go to bikini shopping to scare all the kids at the beach. My mom would have been 62 this September. My merry tribe of dogs and I will be walking 30+ miles in September to help raise money to fund cancer research, support, and advocacy
