*Details on how to donate to your preferred charity below*
Hello!
Thanks for visiting my Run 50 in February Team Fundraising Page!
In February, I'll (somehow) be running 50 miles (and yes, there was a choice of kilometres and miles, and for some reason unfathomable to me, I have chosen to attempt miles) - that's roughly 81k (almost two full marathons) - to raise money for both Blood Cancer UK and the Mid & South Essex Hospitals Charity. These are both causes close to my heart.
This February will mark 4 years since I was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma. The entire team at Broomfield Hospital were (and continue to be) absolutely incredible, from tests and diagnosis, treatment and through to getting the all-clear in Sept 2017 - and then beyond into remission.
Blood Cancer UK is a charity dedicated to beating blood cancer. They fund research and support all those affected. Since 1960, they've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives.
I want to really challenge myself, raise some money and give something back to both the hospital that did everything for me and a great charity that supports everyone with blood cancer. I'm not actually that sure how I'm going to do this (ongoing fatigue is not the one) but if I can beat cancer I can do anything... right?
How to donate
So, on JustGiving, there isn't the option to split donations between two charities. Therefore, I have made this Team page, which is linked to two separate fundraising pages - one sends donations to Blood Cancer UK and the other sends donations to the Mid & South Essex Hospitals Charity. You can find these two pages under the “Team Members” section - just click on one of the team member names (obviously both me!) to open a page and see which one it is (apologies for the faff on this!)
Obviously I'd love to keep donations split as equally as I can between the two, but of course it is completely up to you which you'd like to donate to!
Finally, thank you so much for any donation you can make, I really do appreciate it.
