MADness

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. This is Mike, Adam and Dave (MAD) aiming to Make A Difference (MAD) for two great causes whilst having an adventure along the way.

We will be driving an auto-rickshaw (think lawnmower with a hood and lights) from Jaisalmer in the desert of Rajasthan in India to Leh in the Himalayan Kashmir - a bumpy, bony, dusty, dirty, pot-holed, dangerous, random, remote, uphill and inescapably beautiful journey of about 1500km - if we went in a straight line, which we won't.

Help. This sounds MAD!? It is, actually. For three reasons: 1) That happens to be our initials - Mike, Adam and Dave. Three biggish blokes squeezed into a likely wheezing little rickshaw. (We will carry repair tools!) 2) We want to Make A Difference for the charities and children we are doing this for. And 3) It is just... MAD! And why not? Everyday should be an adventure. (Gulp).

Here is who we are helping - and you can too:

The Darjeeling Children's Trust is a small but impactful charity making a real difference for children in a remote part of India; building orphanages, enabling access to education and protecting the vulnerable. And in doing this they are building a sustainable economy where those that benefit can continue the cycle of helping their communities into the future. We know them well. They are wonderful people. Please support them.

And supporting Cool Earth is our way to make amends for our impact in travelling to and across India. We hope that our greater good intentions, with your support, can make this all worthwhile, but we want to ensure we do our bit for the planet on our way to doing our bit for the children.
