Story
Across the UK, Prostate Cancer is the most common cancer in Men. More than 52,000 men are diagnosed with Prostate Cancer every year. Every 45 minutes one man dies from Prostate Cancer that's more than 12,000 men every year. Prostate Cancer mainly affects men over 50 and your risk increases with age. In the UK about 1 in 8 Men will get prostate cancer in their lifetime. The risk is even higher for Black men and men with a family history of Prostate Cancer. Sadly for many men, diagnosing Prostate cancer is too late.
"In August 2023 I was diagnosed with Prostate cancer, I had no symptoms. At an annual private medical I was offered a PSA blood test as part of being over 50 and a possible risk. The PSA test indicated to a level higher for my age and I was referred for a MRI then a Biopsy. I have been lucky that the cancer has been detected in its very early stages. On Sunday 2nd June 2024 myself and some of my colleagues at Mace on the 1 Mayfair project will be taking part in a fund raising walk around Battersea Park for Prostate Cancer March for Men. As part of this Charity walk we hope to raise some money for Prostate Cancer UK to help fund them to continue the fantastic research to stop Prostate killing men and investing millions to find better tests that can detect fast growing cancers early and could be used in a screening programme to save thousands of lives. At present in the UK for men their is no national screening programme for prostate cancer. Prostate Cancer UK is dedicated to create a world where no man dies from prostate cancer. I hope you can give us some support in this worthwhile cause""
