Story
Every hour, another person in the UK goes blind....
WHY DO I SUPPORT GUIDE DOGS? Sam's story (https://youtu.be/DgInkziNH9Q) was the reason I started supporting Guide Dogs. Sam woke up one day and everything had gone black - his sight had disappeared, and as a result his independence and freedom were severely restricted. Sam and hundreds of others were waiting for a guide dog so that they could live their lives independently and confidently once more. I'm so glad Sam shared his story. He prompted me to sponsor a guide dog puppy - Hope - and to undertake this challenge.
HOW WILL SPONSORSHIP MONEY BE USED? Guide Dogs relies on donations to continue their life-changing work. Every pound raised makes a difference to people in the UK living with sight loss. Money raised will be used to provide services for thousands of people with a vision impairment. From covering the costs of our working guide dogs, including food, vets’ bills and ongoing training, to empowering young people with sight loss by teaching them independent living skills.
OUR TEAM AND OUR CHALLENGE - Our team of 3 will be running 100kms between us before the 30 November. (Anyone who knows me will appreciate that anything involving running is most definitely a challenge for me! People say running is fun, but I've yet to experience it in that way!? For me, each km will be an achievement.)
HOW CAN YOU HELP? Every pound we raise will make a difference. We are aiming to raise £100 - this could pay for five hours' training at a Guide Dogs training school. Any donation you can offer will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to read about our challenge.
