Raising money for Motor Neurone Disease Association and Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Charity

Story

This year is the 8th year for our planned annual event previously known as the P2B4MND walk. This year we plan to walk the Guild wheel which is 21 miles around the outskirts of Preston. The walk will take place on Saturday the 24th of September 2022. This walk has been a popular event raising vital funds that have helped to support local people with vital specialist equipment not always supplied or funded by the NHS. Some of the funds have allowed people caring for their loved ones to take a much needed break, or even fund a wedding. Other funds are directed towards education and local and national research. The funds we raise will all be directed towards MND either locally via the Hospital Charitys section dedicated for people living locally with MND, or nationally through the MNDA which will fund research. To Join the team page you should first make your Just giving page stating where you would like your funds raised to go. Then adding either of the charities stated below. We would like to try and keep the funds as equal as we can.

The MNDA for research Or

Preston MND care centre for local research and to support local people with specilised equipment and aids, in this case it would be the Lancashire teaching hospital charity. (this is then directed to MND).

MND is such a cruel terrible disease which is fatal and has no known cure; leaving people unable to walk, talk, or feed themselves. MND affects up to 5,000 adults in the UK at any one time. This means it is considered a relatively rare disease. Funds raised will benifit people living with MND locally and fund both local and national research.
