Story
LSEG Foundation is a charitable trust that provides a single channel and point of focus for LSEG’s charitable giving. The Foundation is funded by donations from LSEG, from fine income (money collected as a result of disciplinary actions) and from the fundraising activities of staff.
LSEG Foundation prioritises funding projects for different individuals or organisations that help people to reach their full potential, through the development of life skills and business enterprise.
Due to COVID-19, numerous charity events have been cancelled or postponed which is predicted to cause a shortfall of approximately 4 billion GBP for UK Charities. Organisers of mass UK charity events – including the London Marathon – are launching the 2.6 challenge.
This impacts all sectors of society from children to the elderly as well as the vital work in areas such as palliative care, serious diseases, mental health, housing support, food supplies and countless others that charities support. We want to promote a sense of community, boost morale and also cross collaborate amongst all the networks globally.
This challenge would allow the LSEG Foundation, Wellbeing, IN (Inclusion Networks) and Communities at LSEG to get involved in various ways. All have confirmed participation. We are asking LSEG employees to dream up an activity based around the numbers 2.6 or 26 and donate at their discretion. To show our support at home we are asking families and friends to draw a 2 and 6 picture to hang in their window.
