Raising money for Pinc & Steel Foundation UK & Ireland and Macmillan Cancer Support

Story

On the 10th March Louise Obern, 32, passed away. She was a much loved and adored daughter, sister, wife, Mum, friend and physiotherapist.

Louise is, was and will always be remembered for being a breath of fresh air. She was eternally positive, loving, compassionate and utterly selfless in her desire to help and support not only her family and friends but her patients too.

As a Macmillan physiotherapist at Dorchester Hospital she was known for her energy and enthusiasm, with a relentless tenacity to improve the service provision for the cancer patients in the community she served.

Louise’s attention to detail, empathy and patient centered approach was unique, recognizing and supporting her patients individual needs from diagnosis and throughout their journey.

As an UK Ambassador of the Pinc and Steel Foundation she believed in supporting patients through exercise-based therapy. She showed great courage and leadership with the example she set during her own treatment: completing a 5km run with her friends and family.

Louise was a remarkable women and a wonderful person. She was much more than a career women, she was a doting caring and incredible wife (to Chris) and Mummy to their son Reuben.

The love and energy that she brought to her family and their home was incredible. Nothing was too much trouble for her son and husband. Even during her treatment she remained stoic, energetic, positive, focused on the love, affection and support she had for her family.

Louise would always see the choices that life would present, even during the most daunting and difficult of times. Out of such tragedy and sadness she would want there to be an opportunity.

Therefore Chris and Reuben would like you to support in Louise’s memory either Pinc and Steel or Macmillan Cancer UK so the fantastic work that these charities do can continue to support countless therapists in their desire to help patients and their families.
