Story
On the 20th of October 2024 I will be taking on a challenge that I said I'd never do - running a marathon!
In my usual indecisive ways, I wasn't able to pick just one charity to raise funds for, so here is my JustGiving "team" page where you can make that decision for me. Both charities are equally deserving of support, so if possible I would like to keep them as even as I can.
Firstly, LifeCare supports local older people to remain living independently in later years. I have chosen for the money I raise to be given to Vintage Vibes, which is a service run by LifeCare that aims to tackle isolation and loneliness among over-60s in Edinburgh. Vintage Vibes are a great support for a lot of my patients, so raising some pennies for them would be amazing.
Secondly, with a slightly more personal connection to my family and friends, I am raising money for The National Brain Appeal which supports the treatment and care of patients with neurological and neuromuscular conditions. I have chosen for the money I raise to be given to Rare Dementia Support. This offers specialist social, emotional and practical support services for individuals living with, or affected by a rare dementia diagnosis.
Thank you for reading this far. All donations, no matter how much would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much in advance!
