Story
On Sunday April 23rd 2023 I will attempt to take on the London Marathon - in its 42nd year - 42km - in my 42nd Year. It may seem like this has been meticulously planned, in truth I entered the ballot for the first time to ‘scare’ myself into doing some fitness. As you can see I got in (and, yes I am terrified).
Terrified or not I have been putting in the training and getting some good miles in my legs with the help of a brilliant training plan, a great physio, a wonderfully understanding husband and many supportive friends and family. The kids can’t believe I am running so far (and I don't think they are alone!) but I hope that they are able to take some inspiration from this experience.
Being lucky enough to have a ballot place gives me a great opportunity to support two charities, and with the help of Lily and Freddie, together we have chosen:
Manchester Dog’s Home – where we started our family by rescuing our beloved pup Douglas
And
Make a Wish Foundation UK – where we can hopefully make some dreams come true
Every donation will be very much appreciated and will make a huge difference to both charities, plus it will spur me on to get to that finish line.
Thank you for taking time to visit my page.
Wish me luck!
