Story
The team at LMH (Civil Engineering) Ltd are each taking on 100 miles in April! We are challenging ourselves to walk, swim, cycle or run 100 miles throughout April while also raising money to rebuild lives after stroke.
When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt.
A stroke happens when the blood supply to part of the brain is cut off, killing brain cells. Damage to the brain can affect how the body works. It can also change how you think and feel. The effects of a stroke depend on where it takes place in the brain, and how big the damaged area is.
A stroke can be life-changing. It can happen to anyone of any age and affects everyone in different ways.
A stroke can have a huge impact on the individual but also to those around them. It has had an affect on a number of the the LMH team in one way or another so we thought 100 miles in April is a fun way for us all to keep active and raise vital funds to help rebuild lives after stroke.
Your donations can help in incredible ways:
• £150 could help pay for research into new stroke treatments, such as thrombolysis, a clot-busting drug that returns the blood supply to the brain that has transformed the outcomes of stroke survivors who have received it.
• £250 could pay for one hour of Helpline activity, helping the families of stroke survivors support their loved ones after stroke.
• £300 could enable a Co-ordinator to demonstrate how to use My Stroke Guide to a stroke survivor, empowering them to take control of their recovery and feel less isolated
Thank you from all at LMH xx
