Story
Sense is a national Charity that supports people who are deafblind and those with complex disabilities, to be understood, connected and valued. They are there for every person who faces communication barriers in a world that relies on being able to see and hear well to be connected. Together we can unlock barriers to communication so no one is isolated, left out or unable to fulfil their potential.
In the UK, there are currently 1.6 million individuals living with complex disabilities, a number projected to rise to 2 million by 2029. People with complex needs face heightened risks of vulnerability and inequality within our society, making it essential for us to provide them with the support they deserve. Charities like SENSE play a crucial role in this effort, ensuring individuals have access to the resources and interventions they need as soon as possible. We can create meaningful opportunities for those who need it most by coming together to support these initiatives.
By donating to SENSE and my fundraiser you can make a significant impact by providing essential services, such as communication support, therapy, and social activities, helping individuals lead more fulfilling lives. Your contribution can also help raise awareness about the challenges faced by those with sensory disabilities, fostering greater inclusion and understanding within communities. By donating, you play a vital role in empowering individuals to reach their potential and enhancing their quality of life. SENSE does not only support the individual living with a complex need but also their families.
By raising awareness or donating, you can become a powerful advocate for those who cannot speak for themselves. Join me in making a meaningful difference and helping to amplify their voices! Together, we can create a more inclusive world for everyone.
What is a complex need? ( NHS ENGLAND)
If your child has been diagnosed with an illness, disability or sensory impairment and needs a lot of additional support on a daily basis, they're described as having "complex needs". A child might have complex needs from birth, or after an illness or injury.
