Event: Race the Sun Brecon Beacons 15 June 2024, on 15 June 2024
Teams of four or two will be setting off at sunrise on this Triathlon-style adventure challenge aiming to finish before the sun sets! Teams will cycle, hike and canoe around the breath taking Brecon Beacons.

Story

In June I, and 3 other horribly unfit middle aged chaps, will be setting off at sunrise to bike, hike and paddle around a challenging course in a race against the sun. It may sound like an easy task but I am assured it is not. Those of you who know me know that I love a challenge so I wouldn't be undertaking this if I didn't think it was going to push me, and our team, hard.

In total its a 56km bike ride with over 900m of climbing, a 3km canoe around Pontsticill reservoir and then 10 miles of hiking up Pen-y-fan. 10 hour target time - easy right??!

I'm racing in aid of children's charity, Action Medical Research. They have spent over 70 years funding vital research to help defeat the diseases that devastate the lives of sick and disabled babies, children, and young people.

By supporting our team you will be helping to find ways to reduce premature birth, to support children facing a lifetime of challenges caused by disabilities, and to develop cutting-edge therapies for rare and incurable diseases.

Thank you so much for your support.
