My story: With 50 years of professional experience where I was accustomed to giving advice, solving a problem, sharing my insights and experience, applying my knowledge, generating different options……my eyes were opened to new skills of listening when I participated in a Why Listen workshop! I immediately applied what I learnt, and I’ve been amazed at the impact – of just listening! More recently I enjoyed the easily accessible on-line Let’s Get Listening course.
The time is now to make a difference – to learn a new skill during lockdown – for frontline workers in this Covid world, for work colleagues where the stresses of working from home are hindering the normal social interaction, in schools where anxiety levels are high among teachers and pupils, for university students whose university experience has restricted normal social interaction…….and even with our neighbours, friends and families.
