Story
We are a group of students from the University of Warwick, and this summer, we will be spending six weeks teaching English and Maths to underprivileged children in Limpopo, South Africa. Education and the right to education can have a transformative effect on one’s future and offer a sustainable route out of poverty, especially for young people in rural communities.
We will be providing support and mentoring to South African teachers, helping to improve their English and confidence in teaching as well as working with them to develop creative and inspiring lessons for student. This is more important than ever considering the negative impact the pandemic had on educational progress and learning, especially within girls’ education.
We would be extremely grateful for any donations you could make to this cause, of which all funds will go directly to the schools and educational resources to ensure students continue to thrive and benefit from the programme year after year. None of the money raised will pay for our travel/expenses during the trip or any other personal costs.
We firmly believe that having the right education can empower students and their families to build confidence, develop new skills and lead happy, healthy lives.
Thank you so much for your generosity and make sure to check out our individual pages!
