Story
On 19 March 2022, Malcolm, Graeme, John and Alexi will take on the Coeur Blanc Challenge.
Simply put, it’s a self funded 9 hour ski marathon requiring Team Les Coucous (cuckoos, not the food!) to take all 52 lifts in the Vallée from top to bottom in a single day. On average, that means 1 lift every 9 minutes and a skiing descent of over 15,000 metres (or two Mount Everests).
Yes, it’s 4 middle aged blokes having some fun in the snow, but it’s in aid of The Magic Future Foundation that makes a material long term difference in people’s lives.
The Magic Future Foundation recognises that education is key in the fight against poverty. It has already built four schools in some of the poorest countries, the first in Malawi in 2013. The Coeur Blanc Challenge aims to raise enough money to help to build at least 5 schools in the next year and this is where your sponsorship is key.
Stefan and Diana Wissenbach, the founders of The Magic Future Foundation, lost their son Oli in September 2019. Although, the family had already set up the foundation, their aim is to build another 100 schools in honour of Oli who tragically died just as his life was starting at the age of 25. Oli was so passionate about good quality education that he became a teacher himself. Just before he passed away, he had been about to embark on the next phase of his career to teach English in China.

Please give as generously as you can and know that you will not only be sponsoring 4 middle aged blokes having some fun in the snow, but you will also be contributing to an improvement in the lives of young children in some of the poorest countries in the world.
