Story
We're a husband and wife team, running in memory of Léa's late father. In the face of personal tragedy and witnessing the struggles of loved ones, we have come together to make a difference.
Léa was 13 when her father was diagnosed with an aggressive form of blood cancer. Living in East Africa, the lack of support and information left them struggling to cope with the heartbreaking reality. The absence of a dedicated support system like Leukaemia Care made a challenging time even harder.
While we are not avid runners, and know this is a BIG goal - particularly for Hery who suffers from a number of physical injuries - we've decided to take on this challenge, raise funds for a cause that's close to our hearts and do something together, for a man we miss terribly.
Hery says "This is deeply personal: my wife lost her father to blood cancer, and our young son bears an uncanny resemblance to him, a constant, poignant reminder of the man I never met."
Recently, a dear friend's courageous battle and charitable efforts have inspired us to take action. So we are fundraising together, each aiming to raise £2300 for Leukaemia Care. This charity is a lifeline for those affected by blood cancer, providing crucial support and information. Our goal is to ensure that no family has to face this journey alone.
