Story
The Mission to Seafarers has called everyone in maritime to back their Global Champions Unite campaign. They are calling for people to take on a challenge, whatever their fitness ability, in support of seafarers worldwide. Our efforts together will increase awareness for the challenges seafarers have faced, and continue to face.
The funds raised through the campaign will contribute to MtSs Sustaining Crew Welfare Fund, which aims to maintain and adapt MtS services, against the backdrop of the COVID-19 virus.

Let me introduce you to the Team, from the Teekay Singapore office. Kristine in Marine HR, Colin, Erik and Matthew in Commercial roles. We all work out at MVRCK, a really friendly niche gym close to home and work. We have fun working out and thought we should challenge ourselves to make a difference.
We started lifting weights at the end of April, our goal, to lift 1000 tons over a 90 day period between the 4 of us and after an encouraging start our gym was closed for a month due to COVID-19 restrictions. However, we're back up and running and after 16 days have lifted over 130 tons (so need to pick up the pace). If anyone wants to join the team, please do so, we'd need to revise our weight target upwards but the more the merrier!
Of course now there are 12 of us lifting weights, the 1,000 ton goal has increased; we're still waiting for the last team member to let us know his target but expect it to be somewhere close to 2,500 tons!!
An anchor and chain weighs about 150 tons - that's a lot of anchors we'll be lifting!
