Our beloved mum and friend was diagnosed with terminal cancer two years ago and despite giving the biggest fight, she was finally taken from us on the 24th January 2020, 4 weeks after her husband had passed.

Mum refused to allow her diagnosis to bring her down and her sheer determination allowed us to keep her with us for much longer than was expected.

She received treatment and care from a number of people but it was the support, comfort and care she received at the end of her life at St Ann's Hospice that touched our hearts more than anything.

They put a smile back on her face despite the pain and frustration she was experiencing; the little home comforts that made the care go from clinical to personal. From the volunteers, domestic staff, kitchen staff to the nurses and doctors, each and every person made my mum's final two weeks the most comfortable and dignified that they could possibly be. Not only did they look after mum, they also supported and looked after the family. Angels in disguise and a facility that we will feel forever indebted to.

St Ann's Hospice relies on charitable donations to keep their doors open and they need £20,000 a day to do this. Please therefore help us to help this wonderful charity to continue the important work they do for the local community who have life limiting illnesses. Our flagship fundraising event, the sponsored Manchester Midnight Walk, is back for its fourteenth year, and will take place on Friday 24th April. The 10k moonlit walk starts and finishes at the beautiful Manchester Cathedral, and we're sticking with the wildly popular bee theme for 2020!

With a wonderful local band, the famous Rock Choir and the one and only Mr Motivator leading the warm up, we cant wait to see all of our supporters fired up and ready to hit the street course for St Ann's.
