Bookmark and it's supporters are tackling the UK's highest peaks! Funds raised through this challenge will support children's literacy, giving them the skills and confidence they need for a fair chance in life.

Story

This September, Bookmark trekkers will tackle the UK's 3 toughest peaks to help as many children as possible build the futures they deserve. We'll be one of the first hikers of the day to take on Ben Nevis, before tackling Scafell Pike by night. Our final triumph will be Snowdon, aiming to complete the challenge within 24 hours.

It is a shocking statistic that even in a normal year, an average of eight children in a class leave primary school unable to read well. Bookmark is a charity helping children develop the reading skills they need to succeed in school and beyond, through a flexible volunteer-led programme.

From as little as £10, you could gift a child with a Bookmark reading session:
£10 - Gift a child with a one-to-one Bookmark reading session
£25 - Give a Bookmark magazine to 50 children to inspire reading at home
£120 - Gift a child with a six week 1:1 Bookmark reading programme
£250 Inspire a childs love of reading with a new Bookmark volunteer

Prior to lockdown, eight children in an average class in England would leave primary school unable to read well. Bookmark has an incredibly simple vision: we want every child to read. We give children the reading skills and confidence they need for a fair chance in life.
