Raising money for Diabetes UK

London Landmarks Half Marathon 2023 · 2 April 2023 ·

A fun, quirky Half Marathon through London's iconic Landmarks on Sunday 2nd April 2023.

Story

On 19th March 2021, after a turbulent few months of illness and being heavily pregnant with our third child, my son Freddie was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. What a whirlwind of a year it has been. Over a year has passed now and everyday is a challenge. We can all honestly say how naïve and ignorant we were to what a serious and life changing disease Type 1 is.

So, after a few drinks, I managed to convince both Abbi and Amanda to run a half marathon to raise money to try and help find a cure for this horrendous disease. The past 18 months has been made so much easier with the support of these two wonderful humans who have not only been there as the best friends and therapists to me, but also as the greatest friends and support to Freddie.

After another evening of drinks and cocktails Deb asked if she could also join. Of course this was a yes and the following day our fourth and final member joined the team 😍

With us all only running 5k at the moment it's going to be a huge challenge for us all. We want to try and raise as much money as possible for Diabetes UK so, hopefully, in Freddie's lifetime they can find a cure or at least make his life feel as normal as possible. So please dig deep. Thank you!!
