Story

Lucas 'Looky' Martin sadly passed away on September 12th 2023, aged 21 , from meningitis. Known for his infectious enthusiasm and unwavering positivity, he lived a life that was testament to the values of Love, Optimism, Ambition, Determination, and Selflessness - LOADS as his family and friends fondly call it.

His family have set up a charity called Looky's Aid, which was born from the legacy of this remarkable young man.

Mission statement:

'At Looky’s Aid, our mission is to unlock the potential of young people, particularly those who are underprivileged, ill, or disabled. We believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to live a life filled with love, hope, ambition, determination, and the joy of helping others. Our initiatives are designed to provide support, education, and experiences that empower young individuals to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential'.

His best mate, Patrick Gough, hatched a plan to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, to raise money for Look's Aid in tribute to his friend.

Together with Lucas' dad Brett, two more of his best mates, Patrick Douglas and Charles Kenny, and a group of friends from the Isle of Man, will be taking on the challenge in January 2025.

All 11 in the group have funded their own trip. Everything donated will go to this amazing charity.

The team: Patrick Gough, Charles Kenny, Patrick Douglas, Brett Martin, Richard MacNee, Anthony Page, Rob Kirkham, Simon Nicholas, Guy Templar, Mark Gilson and Paul Ashley.
