Story
In February 2021, we will be trekking Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest free standing mountain in the world. We are both excited and humbled to be taking on the most difficult challenge of our life. This gruelling trek will take us almost 20,000 ft above sea level, testing our mind and body to the limit of what is possible.
Why are we doing this crazy feat? A group of 23 passionate people have come together, to work alongside Human Appeal, to raise £120,000 to provide Emergency Humanitarian Aid around the world.
Everywhere we look, the world is in crisis:
• Yemen is crippled by six years of conflict, famine, and disease with over 24 million people needing urgent humanitarian aid.
• Syria has millions displaced due to the nine year long conflict.
• Gaza in Palestine, according to the United Nations could become uninhabitable by the end of 2020.
• Iraq continues to experience an unstable and critical humanitarian situation with 6.7 million people needing immediate assistance.
• Rohingya refugees, described by UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres as the most discriminated people in the world.
• Refugee camps around the world are further aggravated by the threat of coronavirus upon their lives.
Last year we all helped Human Appeal to change the lives of 1,349,536 people, including supporting 11,845 orphans in nine countries, as well as providing 42,110 people with vital and timely food security. During the harsh winter over 13,000 people were given the support they required to weather the tough conditions of these difficult months.
Human Appeal is on the ground in Syria, Yemen, Palestine, Somalia, Pakistan, Iraq, Myanmar and Bangladesh, but can only deliver vital aid with your help. Your support means the difference between life and death for people experiencing unimaginable suffering. Our World in Crisis Emergency Appeal allows us to respond wherever the need is greatest. It means we can be on the ground within hours of a disaster striking, so we can reach more vulnerable people, including children, immediately with the essentials they need to survive.
Join us to help transform more lives in some of the most vulnerable communities in the world.
£100 - could provide a vulnerable family with immediate food, clean water and necessarymedical aid.
£70 - can keep a family of five well fed for a whole month with a nutritious food parcel.
These items could mean the difference between life and death, in the first and most vulnerable moments during an emergency, for a family who have lost everything .
***P.S. If you're a UK donor, please don't forget to add gift aid to your donation at no extra cost to you. This will ensure that Human Appeal gets their admin and other operational costs covered to continue with their much needed work**
