Story
Kennedy FitzGerald Architects have two teams running in the very first Belfast City Virtual Marathon Distance Run on Sunday 20th September 2020 to help raise money for two great charities close to our hearts: Motor Neurone Disease Association & World Orphans.
Our fantastic runners are Gareth McKnight, Jonny Cassidy, Kathryn Francey, Jason Stead, James Kipling, Hanna Agnew, Niall Quinn, David Rooney, Caitlin Paxton & Dean Morrison.
The Motor Neurone Disease Association in Northern Ireland aims to provide the best possible support to local people living with MND, their families and carers. The branch is run entirely by volunteers. MND is a neurodegenerative disorder resulting in the deterioration of the voluntary muscles used to walk, talk, eat, drink and breathe. There is currently no cure for MND, although recent fundraising campaigns have helped fund a research discovery into a key gene which causes the disease, so it really is a case of every penny counts. Currently, World Orphans has 56 active projects in 12 Countries across Central America, Africa, and East/Central Asia. They provide a wide range of services to orphaned children and refugees including medical care, shelter, education, community building, infrastructure development and economic empowerment.
