We are building The Breathing Pacemaker to improve the lives of children with CCHS.

Story

Thanks for landing on our team page. We’re James and Max, two amateur cyclists from London who are asking for your support in an upcoming charity endeavour.

We’ll be embarking on an unsupported bike ride across Europe, covering an approximate distance of 1,440 km over 12 days. Our goal is to raise funds and awareness for ‘Keep Me Breathing’, a charity who are working tirelessly to improve the lives of children with the rare disease CCHS. We’re passionate about supporting them and their cause and we’re hoping that you might be too. Kindly note that all donations are hugely appreciated and go directly to Keep Me Breathing to help with development of a treatment for CCHS.

About Keep Me Breathing - a children's charity with a clear end goal. With the support of over 130 doctors, scientists, researchers and other medical professionals, ‘Keep Me Breathing’ are working with Cambridge University to build a treatment for children who stop breathing when they fall asleep. These children require nurses at their bedside all night every night, to ensure they don’t disconnect from artificial life support. Around 20% of these children also cannot breathe adequately on their own while awake.

CCHS is a rare disease. There is no cure and no treatment beyond an external connection to artificial life support. Keep Me Breathing are building the first ever treatment designed for CCHS. The Breathing Pacemaker.

Thank you,

James and Max
