Story
Well the journey is over, but not wuite the pain! We completed 42.2kms in just over 10 hours (inc approx 2hrs rest & medic time - thank you Nicola for helping me push through the pain wall). So av. of 3.3mph. Thank you all for your donations; the option to donate will remain open for a while longer.

I work at Invesco and we're proud to support our chosen charity Dementia UK. My friend Nicola and I have decided to take on this challenge and raise funds for Dementia UK.
Dementia UK is the only specialist dementia nurse charity.
There is no cure for dementia. But there is care. And care can change lives. Thats why Dementia UK is here. Specialist dementia nurses, called Admiral Nurses, provide life-changing care for families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimer's disease. This support has been needed more than ever throughout the pandemic which has left thousands of families isolated, bereaved and in despair.
Every penny raised through our partnership will help provide a lifeline to those who need it.
We decided to take on to take on the epic 26-mile marathon walk in London Marathon on Saturday 28 January 2023 to raise as much money as we can for this incredibly worthwhile cause. Nicola and I will hopefully be able to motivate and support each other during this challenge. Nicola will be walking in memory of her grandma Mary Wright who had Alzheimer's and I will be walking in memory of my mother Beryl Holroyd who died with Dementia with Lewy Bodies in early 2022. Mum was born and raised in London so it seems poignant that we're the London Winter Walk.
Please give as much or as little as you wish, it all adds up.
Thank you.
