Julie, Steve and I have taken on a Challenge to raise money for the 245 local children and young people the charity supports each year. We will do this by cycling the 100 miles Ride the North route. Befriend a Child does amazing work in supporting children in the Aberdeen City and Shire areas, with a large proportion of the children they help coming from the city's regeneration areas. The challenges faced by the children include neglect, abuse of various kinds, parent(s) with alcohol, drug addiction or mental health challenges. There is a significant waiting list of children seeking support and the more funds we can raise the more children they can support.
