Story

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of John, who bravely battled idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) since his diagnosis in 2011. Despite the challenges, his resilience and determination led him to undergo a double lung transplant in March 2013, a testament to his incredible strength and will to live.

Throughout his journey, John was deeply committed to raising awareness about lung-related illnesses. Breathing Matters is a charity specialising in the research and support of conditions like IPF. Their work provided him and countless others with hope and invaluable resources.

Breathing Matters is dedicated to finding better treatments and ultimately a cure for lung diseases. Their focus on groundbreaking research and patient support has made a significant impact in the lives of those affected by these conditions. In honour of John's legacy and his unwavering efforts to support this cause, we are raising funds to continue the vital work that meant so much to him.

By donating, you are not only honouring John's memory but also contributing to a cause that can change lives. Every contribution, no matter how small, will help Breathing Matters continue their essential work in research and patient care.

Thank you for your support and generosity during this difficult time. Together, we can make a difference in the fight against lung disease.

With gratitude,

John's family
