During October, myself and Laura are each walking 10,000 steps each day for Mind, a charity close to both our hearts ❤
For every £1 donated to Mind, 82p is spent on supporting those with mental health challenges, with the remainder being spent on running the organisation including generating funds and planning for the future. During 2022/23 more than 123,000 queries were responded to, which demonstrates just how important the work of the organisation is 🙌🏼
We’ve both had personal experience of mental health challenges and have seen and supported others with their own mental health. The work of this incredible organisation goes a long way to support those who need it, but there still a way to go 🧠
We are firm believers that humans are primed for connection and we all have struggles; just knowing others are there to lend an ear can be such a reassuring thought. Not everyone is lucky enough to have a support network around them and Mind can support those who just need someone to talk to 🗣
It's also no coincidence that World Mental Health Day is during the month of October and as winter draws in, we need more than ever to make sure we are still taking care of one another 🌎
Exercise is one of the most beneficial things we can do for our own mental health so not only will this fundraiser be beneficial for the charity, but we are hoping it helps us reset and bring a practice into our own lives that will pay forward in the future 🚶🏻♀️
