Story

Thank you for visiting our JustGiving team page supporting the MND Association.

On 11 April 2023 Caroline & Lizzie lost their mum, Janet, to Motor Neurone Disease. A neurologist delivered her diagnosis just an hour before she passed away. Her various symptoms were initially dismissed as old age by health care professionals and it wasn't until she had issues breathing, and staying awake, that she was admitted to hospital where an A&E doctor spotted the fasciculations (twitching and rippling sensations under her skin), which are one of the many symptoms of MND.

On 6 April 2024 Abby and Caroline will walk 50km and Lizzie will walk 25km in Janet's memory and in aid of The MND Association which focuses on improving access to care, research and campaigning for those people living with or affected by MND in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. MND is typically hard to diagnose but we are hopeful that by raising awareness, earlier diagnoses will be possible.

By sponsoring us your money will help people affected by Motor Neurone Disease. Once you donate, JustGiving will send your money directly to the MND Association. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and secure, your details are safe - they'll never sell them or send unwanted emails.

Thank you again for your kind support.
