Story

We’re a group of friends who for the last few years have been helping with Walk the Wight by marshalling checkpoints or back walking as reservists from the local Army Reserve unit. Since the walk isn‘t taking place as it normally does, we wanted to help out by trying to raise donations. For a challenge and because we‘ve helped with Back Walking, we’re walking the route backwards, in the time it takes for the sun to set at Freshwater and then rise at Bembridge.

We’re completing 'Walk the Wight Our Way' to help make sure that, even during this challenging time, the most vulnerable in our community are cared for when they need it the most.

Its only with our help that Mountbatten can continue to be there for Island people in the last years of life, when the time comes to die and to help those left behind come to terms with their loss. Without our support, Mountbatten cannot afford to deliver the services they do, as well as meet the needs of the increasing number of people who need care and support.

Please help me by making a donation of whatever you can afford. Every penny will make a difference. Mountbatten, and Island people facing death, dying and bereavement, are counting on us!
