Story
Dinesh and I did several challenging things together. From moving continents and starting a new life here, to raising a family & running multiple businesses. But the one thing Dinesh could never get me to do was join him on his hiking adventures.
Dinesh believed in Rennie Grove Peace and the importance of everyone having the change to have a dignified end of life, something that RGPH does so well! But with limited government funding, our contribution is so vital to help achieve that!
In early 2024 he completed the London Bridges Walk, and signed up for the Chiltern 3 Peaks Challenge to raise money for their vital work.
But tragically, Dinesh wasn’t able to complete the Chiltern 3 Peaks. On the 22nd of April 2024 he passed away suddenly at home.
This year, inspired by him, both my sons are joining me on this walk across the bridges of London. The Chiltern 3 peaks challenge, a charity classical music concert and other fund raising activities are also being planned!
Trek China
In December 2024 I saw that Rennie Grove Peace were looking for volunteers to sign up to their Trek China Challenge. And after casually mentioning it to a friend, I found myself signed up!
To be honest, I am terrified. But I also know, this is Dinesh egging me on. He always encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone and I know he would want me to do this.
So, in May, 2026, I’ll be trekking the Great Wall of China to raise money for Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care. In memory of my husband, business partner, and best friend.
This is as far out of my comfort zone as I could possibly get, mentally and physically. That 18 mile hike in the Chilterns is looking rosy now, I can tell you. But this past year has taught me that I am stronger than I knew I was and I will not be defeated.
