Story
COPS provides peer support opportunities and access to counselling services to help surviving family members (‘survivors’) rebuild their shattered lives.
"Your loss is a part of who you are but COPS helps you realise that it doesn’t define you. We are all one big family."
Since its foundation in 2003, COPS has helped hundreds of police families devastated by the loss of a loved one who died.
In January 2023, my partner, PC Bruce Lister passed away. COPS reached out and offered support in dealing with the sudden loss. After watching the Police Unity Tour in July 2023, myself and the family were overwhelmed by the support and love from everyone who took part, whether they knew a member of the police force who had passed away, were a member themselves of the police force, or just wanted to help out. I knew I wanted to give back to COPs for their support since losing Bruce so last year I decided to take part in the ride, and after having such a fantastic albeit emotional experience will be doing so again this year along with my daughter Jess and Bruce’s daughter Megan.
COPS receives no government funding and relies completely on donations so anything you can donate could help make a huge difference to the families of fallen police officers. Many thanks x
