VOAPA's Ruth's Place Shelter is run by a special community of women who inspire me to work hard every day! The only emergency shelter for women in Luzerne County, Ruth's Place offers women a shelter during their hardest times in life, and the committed team, many who've experienced homelessness themselves, help them attain safe housing and rebuild their lives.

Many of us are one paycheck or domestic abuse incident away from becoming homeless. Shelter funding does not fully cover the expenses, but we're committed to providing them and raising the money needed to keep the shelter open and serving guests day and night. Many shelters close during the day, requiring guests to take all belongings with them and wait/wander outdoors until evening comes. Your gift will allow us to continue our very important work, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Your support will help to provide stability and hope!
