Hi,

We're Ariana and Mark and we are planning to do the London to Brighton bike ride this June (2026) to fundraise for the BHF because good research is good for the heart – and that takes money.

But do you know what else is good for your heart? FUN!

So - as well as FUND-raising, we will be FUN-raising as we train towards the event.

As we reach each of the "smilestones" below, we’ll add another fun element to our training rides.

If you're reading this, your heart is probably beating...

But, in three minutes time, that will cease to be the case for someone somewhere in the UK.

Because, on average, every three minutes someone in the UK dies as a result of cardiovascular disease.

That is a sad and sobering statistic.

But it's not as bad as it could be.

Since 1961 the UK’s death rate from cardiovascular disease (CVD) has declined by three quarters. That kind of improvement would not be possible without medical researchers developing new and better ways of treating and preventing these conditions.

The British Heart Foundation is the biggest independent funder of heart and circulatory research in the UK - and they can't continue to do that if they don’t continue to get money.

So we don't have to stand around watching helplessly, instead, please donate – you’ll be helping to raise FUNDS as well as helping to ramp up the FUN :)

And together, we can make a difference!

Here are the Fun-Raisers that (with your help!) we could soon be adding - along with the smilestone amount that each one of us needs to get to to unlock that fun-raiser:

£100 - Wheel Hearts - Hearts will be attached to our wheel spokes

£200 - Quackers - We’re starting to go quackers – so, rather than just using a bell, we’ll quack to let people know we’re there!

£350 - Tiny & Bart - You’ll get to meet our mascot (Tiny for Ariana / Bart for Mark)

There are also other ideas that we have which we'll talk more about if we meet the smilestones above - things like flags, streamers, balloons, jingle bells, etc. might just feature... Get donating so that we can reveal more!!
