Story
Everyday, hundreds of young people in Sheffield are at risk of homelessness. We care deeply about our community, where many of our people live and work, and we want to do everything we can to support Roundabout’s mission to end youth homelessness and support some of the most vulnerable young people in South Yorkshire.
Team Henry Boot Construction x Whittam Cox Architects have joined together to fundraise for Roundabout’s Bangers & Cash event. Richard Grafton, Craig Finn and Dave Savage have joined 40 other teams to embark on a four-day journey to Munich in an old Volvo, all to raise money and awareness for Roundabout.
Henry Boot Construction and Whittam Cox Architects have a strong partnership and work together to bring iconic projects to life. Both are currently working on the Kangaroo Works in Sheffield, an iconic development bringing hundreds of modern apartments to the city centre. For the team, this brings the need to support youth homelessness into even sharper focus. Team Captain Richard explains, “As a regional business, it is vitally important that we provide meaningful support for our communities. We have a great commercial partnership with Whittam Cox Architects and I’m delighted that we can join together in our unified aim to help build a better future for young people.”
Dave, Board Director at Whittam Cox Architects said, “As Architects we are in a privileged position to design and deliver modern urban homes locally and across the country for a diverse range of people. As such we understand the sanctuary afforded by knowing you have a place to call home. By participating in Roundabout’s Bangers and Cash event and in partnership with Henry Boot Construction, we hope to play our part in raising awareness and funds for a fantastic charity who make a lasting impact on the lives of young people when they are at their most vulnerable.”
Before setting off from the steel city, all the teams will have their bonnets decorated with unique designs by local artists, which will be exhibited before the journey begins. The team will travel through 8 countries, covering 1,092 miles before arriving at the finish line in Munich.
Your donations will help provide a safe place for young people, alongside support and life skills to help break the cycle of homelessness. Your support for our event will go a long way to changing the lives of some of the most vulnerable young people in Sheffield. Roundabout’s work is a lifeline for many and their support helps those they work with to prepare for a better future. Thank you.
