Story

I'm walking 31 miles in May to support families facing dementia.

Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Our nurses, called Admiral Nurses, provide life-changing care to families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimers disease. They help people with dementia stay independent for longer, and support the people caring for them so they have the strength to cope with the bad days, and the energy to enjoy the good days. They have the time to listen and the knowledge to solve problems, helping families take back control when they are struggling.

As a care home we all understand how difficult it can be for those living with Dementia and it affects it has on the family and friends. We all have a part to play in so many ways, only this way by completing this walk we as a team can help raise awareness and funds to help contiue the work the amazing nurses do for all. Staff from Heatherton House Carehome will be fundraising for Dementia Uk throughout the month of May.
