We just want to say another massive thank you to each and every one of you who has donated in Heather's memory - we have beaten our original targets for both charities and are still going! This is human kindness at its best. Thank you for helping us to make something good come out of something so awful.

Wishing you all a safe and happy Christmas and here's hoping that 2021 is a better year for everyone.

WOW - thank you SO much to everyone for your donations and lovely comments. Many have come from people who didn't know Heather personally and we have been so touched and comforted by this wave of support and generosity from strangers who care... it means the world to us. You are all brilliant. We are really pleased to have raised such a large amount for charity already in Heather's memory.

We have overtaken our original target for Sustrans by some margin which is amazing - let's keep going and also see if we can do the same for the dogs and cats! Heather always had a soft spot for a big scruffy tomcat :)

Our dear Heather tragically lost her life on 2nd November 2020 while out for a bike ride in Portobello, Edinburgh.

In lieu of funeral flowers, we set up a crowdfunding page to raise money towards a memorial bench and tree for Heather (link here: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/heather-stronach) Having surpassed that target, we now want to carry on and raise funds for charities that we believe Heather would want to support. We set up this new page so that the charities can claim 25% Gift Aid on eligible donations (this is not possible on the original crowdfunding page).

The charities are:

> Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home - https://edch.org.uk/ - Heather and Martyn were on the verge of adopting a cat :)

> SustransUK https://www.sustrans.org.uk/ - a charity that supports and champions cycling and campaigns for safer cycling infrastructure

When you donate, you can choose your preferred charity as follows:

> David = Sustrans

The funds go to them directly. We hope to raise a similar amount for each one!

Alternatively, we're raising money for conservation charities in New Zealand, Heather's second home :)
